At the World Health Assembly, Member States reaffirmed their commitment to address global health and care workforce challenges. They reviewed the Global Strategy on Human Resource for Health: Workforce 2030, which revealed a worsening global shortfall projected to reach 11.1 million health workers by 2030.
A key outcome was the adoption of a resolution – co-sponsored by Morocco, along with Germany, Nigeria, the Philippines, and Thailand – urging accelerated investment in health worker education, job creation, improved working conditions, and the use of digital technologies and AI to support the workforce.
