– During the 78th World Health Assembly in Geneva, the WHO signaled its intent to consider Tunisia as a regional reference platform for vaccine production. This was discussed in a bilateral meeting between Tunisia’s Minister of Health, Mustafa Ferjani, and WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
The meeting highlighted Tunisia’s ongoing collaboration with WHO, particularly through support to integrated “One Health” approach, which links human, animal, and environmental health. This approach will be central to the upcoming MENA Regional One Health Conference, set to take place on June 14-15, 2025. Tunisia’s contribution to the international pandemic agreement and its inclusion in the mRNA vaccine technology transfer program were also commended.
